MikroTik: MikroTik Switching - Spanning Tree Protocol

BNT-ONL-MT-044 by Baltic Networks

Ensure a loop-free switching network and grasp the functionality of the Spanning-Tree Protocol (STP, RSTP, MSTP).

Description

This course stands out as the first in the market to focus on switching in MikroTik. Beginning with RouterOS version 6.41, MikroTik introduced robust switching features, including the essential Spanning-Tree Protocol (STP).

STP plays a critical role in preventing loops in redundant switching networks, ensuring their efficient operation. Without it, networks risk malfunctioning. This course delves into the workings of STP, exploring its features in detail. Additionally, we'll cover Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) and Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), the latter being exclusive to RouterOS version 6.41 and newer.

To participate in the LABS for this course, you'll need three MikroTik RouterBoards equipped with a switch chip. Alternatively, MikroTik CRS models are suitable. You'll also require two end devices, such as PCs.
