Overview

The MikroTik SXTsq 5 ax is a compact 5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 outdoor CPE with an integrated 16 dBi directional antenna. It provides wireless connectivity for WISP customer installations, building-to-building links, and remote locations where running cable is impractical.

A dual-core 800 MHz ARM processor, 256 MB of RAM, and RouterOS v7 provide routing and wireless management capabilities. The included Level 4 license supports both client and access point configurations, allowing the device to serve different roles within a wireless network. A Gigabit Ethernet port carries data and accepts passive PoE power.

The IP55 enclosure features three hose-clamp mounting positions, including support for horizontal railings. MikroTik reports field testing at distances up to approximately 1.9 miles in urban interference and potential links exceeding 6.2 miles with clear line of sight. Actual range and throughput depend on alignment, interference, terrain, weather, and permitted transmit power.
