    HaloB Features
    Bai Cells Halo B is an additional feature that gives service providers a way to operate using a "Lite EPC". Exisiting eNodesB's can be upgraded to HaloB through software feature activation (nominal fee to get this upgraded feature). Local EPC Feature Key, QTY 1, 1per eNB needed SIM card IMSIs can attach to multiple HaloB eNBs and each will store the SIM data for future attachments. In the event of a rare CloudCore outage, new installs may not be able to attach during the outage if the SIM data has never been downloaded from the BOSS before. You can use toe eNB GUI or the CloudCore OMC to perform the steps to implement HaloB. If you are planning to implement HaloB on more than one exisiting eNB, Bai Cells recommends you use the OMC to upgrade multiple eNB's simultaneously.

    SIM Card
    Before the SIM cards can be used, they must first be added to their operator account and be activated. All new SIM card numbers (IMSI) should be sent to support_na@baicells.com with the name of the operator so that BaiCells can add the SIM cards to the operator account. Once the SIM cards are added, the operator can activate the SIM cards themselves from CloudCore. To activate the SIM cards, operators would follow the following steps: 1. Log into CloudCore 2. Click “BOSS” at the top left. 3. Click “Subscriber” on the left menu. 4. Click “New” to add a new subscriber. 5. Enter subscriber info and click on the search icon in the SIM card field. 6. Select the respective IMSI number. 7. Click save to add a new subscriber and activate the SIM card.
    HaloB
    BaiCells HaloB allows the eNodeB to continue servicing subscribers even when it has no connection to the Evolved Packet Core (EPC). The HaloB eNB eliminates the transport layer between the evolved packet core (EPC) and the eNB by embedding a "lite EPC" directly on the eNB. Therefore, critical control plane signaling is kept local. With HaloB installed, S1 (transport) failures are eliminated. This removes wireless PTP backhaul failures, fiber outages, or routing mistakes from causing customer service disruption. CloudCore is still available for OMC monitoring and upgrade functions, as well as Boss HSS functions. SIM card activation and bandwidth packages assignment are still performed by the BOSS. Operators using the Baicells API for billing software integration will see no change. When a UE attempts to attach to a HaloB eNB, the HaloB contacts the BOSS to verify the IMSI in valid and active, and collects the bandwidth packages. All information is downloaded to the HaloB memory bank. Once stored, the EU will remain attached indefinitely. SIM card IMSIs can attach to multiple HaloB eNBs and each will store the SIM data for future attachments.     Baicells SIM Card
    Baicells SIM Card is useful if you need to set up an cellular network, for 3G/4G failover, and for cell phones. Before the SIM cards can be used, they must first be added to their operator account and be activated. All new SIM card numbers (IMSI) should be sent to support_na@baicells.com with the name of the operator so that BaiCells can add the SIM cards to the operator account. Once the SIM cards are added, the operator can activate the SIM cards themselves from CloudCore. To activate the SIM cards, operators would follow the following steps: 1. Log into CloudCore 2. Click “BOSS” at the top left. 3. Click “Subscriber” on the left menu. 4. Click “New” to add a new subscriber. 5. Enter subscriber info and click on the search icon in the SIM card field. 6. Select the respective IMSI number. 7. Click save to add a new subscriber and activate the SIM card.
