Role of the Certified Professional Installer
Upon completion of the test, Federated Wireless will issue a 5-year CBRS Certified Professional Installer certification, authorizing individuals to perform transmitter installation, operation, maintenance, and repair duties in the private land mobile services and fixed services.
A CPI must certify the CBRS network installation parameters.
The FCC requires that a CBSD’s location information be recorded at SAS as part of the CBSD registration process. Location determination may be carried out via automated geolocation technologies or may be entered into the SAS by a professional installer. The CPI does not necessarily need to physically install the equipment, but must certify the installation parameters and is personally responsible for the accuracy of the data.
